Waterford Hotels
County Waterford is located in the South East Region of Ireland. Ireland’s South East includes Kilkenny, Carlow, Wexford and Waterford. Waterford is the main city in the county and is one of the oldest cities in Ireland. It is a walled city dating back to Viking times. The city is home to Waterford Crystal and is also well known for its musical and theatrical traditions, such as the Waterford International Festival of Light Opera.
There are many attractions to visit throughout the county including the Lismore Castle and Gardens, which was originally built in 1185 and was re-built by the Duke of Devonshire in the mid-19th century. Mount Melleray Abbey, near Cappoquin, which was the first abbey founded in Ireland after the Reformation. Curraghmore House near Portlaw, which has been home to the Marquis of Waterford since 1170. King John’s Norman Castle in Dungarvan, which was founded in 1185 and Dungarvan County Museum. The Ardmore Round Tower and Cathedral is the presumed burial site pf St. Declan. Cappoquin House & Gardens is a fine example of an 18th century Georgian mansion. The Copper Coast European Geopark is one of the only one of its kind in Ireland and one of 17 in Europe.

There are also cycling routes to explore, for example, from Cappoquin and Waterford.
