Situated in West Cavan the village of Bawnboy boasts The Keepers Arms. It offers top of the range quality approved accommodation and fully licensed bar. Ideally based for fishing, golfing and walking holidays. All our eleven en suite rooms have been decorated and equipped with your comfort in mind. (TV'S, Tea/Coffee, DD Phone). There are eleven ensuite rooms at the Keepers Arms Hotel, and all have central heating, tv, direct dial telephone and tea and coffee-making facilities.

Location

With three golf courses - Slieve Russell 18 hole, Belturbet and Ballinamore 9 hole - and five lakes or rivers (stocked with bream, roach, perch, tench, pike, trout and eel) within a 3KM radius of the Keepers Arms Hotel, the golfing and fishing enthusiast is literally spoiled for choice. At the Keepers Arms Hotel Golfing and fishing parties can be catered for. There is a tackle cold room and bait can be ordered locally. Swimming, clay pigeon shooting and shopping excursions can also be arranged and a babysitting service is provided. In nearby Ballyconnell you can watch the cruisers and canal boats gently glide amongst the swans on the peaceful waters of the newly restored Shannon-Erne waterway. And if you are lucky you will spot a heron or maybe even a kingfisher. Boat and bicycle hire is available on request, as well a wealth of information on attractions and activities in the area. A mere two hours drive from Dublin or Belfast, Bawnboy is situated in the heart of West Cavan, a lakeland area of unspoiled natural beauty, steeped in ancient history and renowned for itys superb coarse fishing, peace and tranquillity. Ireland's second largest inland freshwater system, the Shannon-Erne waterway, winds its course only a few miles from Bawnboy. The area is ideal for cycling, bird-watching, walking, canoeing, windsurfing, swimming and golf as well as local equestrian centres providing pony-trekking and horse-riding.

The fully licenced premises attached offers traditional Irish or continental breakfast, a bar lunch and evening meals are also available. And special diets can accommodated. The bar has a large open fire for relaxing in front of with the locals in the evening, as well as a pool room, dart board and satellite television.
