The 46 bedrooms and suites at Glenlo Abbey Hotel have been designed with an emphasis on general space and comfort, and afford unrivalled views of the dramatic West of Ireland landscape with its ever changing colours. Lake view rooms give a panoramic vista of Lower Lough Corrib, Connemara and on a clear day Croagh Patrick, or the "Reek" as it is known to locals. The Conservatory Suite, which faces south into the sun, overlooks the Abbey and upper holes of the golf course and also the Walled Garden where a proud orchard once stood. All rooms feature marbled en–suite bathrooms, hair–dryer, clothes press, personal safe, direct dial telephone and cable television. Suites are available on every floor. Guests can avail of 24 hour room service, shoe shine, newspaper of choice in the morning.

Situated on a 138 acre estate overlooking Lough Corrib, Glenlo Abbey was formerly the ancestral home of the French and Blake families, two of the fourteen Tribes that ruled over Galway for centuries. The original house dates back to 1740, and is still privately owned by the Bourke Family. Now thoughtfully and carefully restored as a superb 5–Star Hotel, Leisure and Conference venue, Glenlo Abbey offers a truly unique blend of Old World Irish hospitality combined with every modern convenience. Although located in the countryside, the vibrant city of Galway is just 2.5 miles (4 kms) away on the N59.

This uniquely laid–out Golf Course, with very large Double Greens and Quadruple Tees is, in effect, two challenging 9–Hole Courses back to back. From the Championship Tees it measures 6,538 yards, with 3 other sets of Tees for Medal Rounds, Societies and Ladies. This takes on an 18–Hole character after playing the first 9 holes – a challenging course with an appealing difference! The state–of–the–art 12 Bay Driving Range opened in June 1996. Designed to blend in with its surroundings, it is a log construction and because it is floodlit, golfers can practice their swing until late every night all year round.
