The Arbutus Hotel and the Buckley family - at the heart of Killarney hospitality since 1926. Generations of visitors have enjoyed their personal introduction to the many attractions of the area whilst enjoying the warmth of a townhouse hotel where loving attention to detail is evident in home-cooked food, the original Buckley's Bar and the marvellous Celtic Deco design throughout. All 25 bedrooms have been carefully renovated & enhanced over the last few years with your comfort in mind. They are decorated and equipped with what one expects today from a quality hotel. You may choose from the following accommodation types: Standard Superior double, Superior twin (2 single beds), Deluxe double (king bed), Deluxe twin (double & single or 2 double beds), Family (1double & 2 single beds) Mini suite. Air conditioning is available in our Deluxe Rooms.

Location

The Arbutus is located on College Street at the junction of Lewis Road. Just off Main St, a 5 minute stroll to the train & bus station or only a mile from the Killarney National Park

Food and Drink Norrie Buckley's Restaurant: Norrie Buckley oversees the restaurant with pride & passion. In her dining room and restaurant you will find the blending of traditional Irish and International recipes using the best local ingredients.

Buckley's Bar: Buckley's Bar is an oak panelled bar with friendly service, turf fires, tall tales and one of the finest pints in Ireland. Several nights a week musicians use Buckley's as a meeting house for impromptu pure traditional sessions – not planned, programmed or amplified. They'll play/sing/tell a joke/a story or dance whatever takes their fancy and visitors are very welcome to listen or even join in!

Touring: Killarney is the ideal 'hub' for touring historic Kerry and the entire south–west of Ireland. With the incredibly beautiful Ring of Kerry, Dingle peninsula and Beara peninsula (west Cork), all within easy reach. The counties of Clare, Limerick, Tipperary and Cork are all but a leisurely drive away. In the comfort of Killarney's accommodation, you are only a short drive from an absolute treasure chest of magnificent scenery and landscape, an ancient heritage of history and archaeology and, endless miles of rugged Atlantic coast and deserted sandy beaches.

Golf: Killarney is the ideal place to base yourself, it is the hub to some of the finest golf courses in Ireland. Killeen, (venue for the Irish Open in 1991 & 1992 and the Curtis Cup in 1996) or Mahony's Point and Lakabane. Within 30 to 90 minutes drive from Killarney, you will find numerous other courses, including some of the best 'Links' courses in the world, Ballybunion and Waterville, Old head of Kinsale, Tralee & Dooks.
