Summer is just around the corner so to help you plan your summer staycation we have picked out 5 great beach side hotels that are all worth a visit.

Park Hotel Dungarvan, Waterford

Family run and situated in the coastal town of Dungarvan, the Park Hotel is perfect for a family beach break this summer. Clonea beach is just a ten minute drive from the hotel so pack the family into the car and head to the beach for the day, weather permitting of course. The beach stretches five kilometres and has stunning views and scenic walks close by too, it also has lifeguards on duty all summer. If the sun isn’t shining, there’s lots to do in Dungarvan too. Bring the family to visit Dungarvan Castle, have lunch in one of the traditional local pubs or even make the trip into Waterford city and check out the world famous Waterford Crystal Museum.

Achill Cliff House Hotel. Mayo

Achill Cliff House overlooks Keel beach (locally known as Trawmore) and the stunning Minaun Cliffs. Achill Island boasts an impressive 5 blue flag beaches and they are some of the finest in the country. Old Bank House Kinsale, Cork

The stunning Georgian town house situated in the heart of Kinsale is ideal for a beach break this summer. Kinsale is one of Ireland’s most popular tourist destinations and it’s no surprise as it boasts some of the most stunning scenery around including the harbour views and the multi-coloured streets. Beaches are aplenty in the area too, with Sandy Cove being a popular choice for strong ocean swimmers who swim out to the little island when the tide is high. The Dock Beach is a favourite with locals, it’s small, safe and perfect for relaxing on a sunny summer’s day. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out in Kinsale, it’s full of trendy restaurants and cool café’s including the Steakhouse, Fishy Fishy and many more.

Moy House, Lahinch, Clare

Moy House in the coastal town of Lahinch has an enviable location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and surrounded by fifteen acres of lush green grounds. Lahinch beach is a hugely popular destination with visitors and locals alike. It’s in a superb location, just a short drive away from the Cliffs of Moher, and is a go to spot for surfing, kayaking or kitesurfing in the Midwest.
