We have compiled a selection of unique ghoulish things to do for you and all the family this Halloween
Rathwood located in Rath, Tullow. Co. Carlow a 25 minute drive from the town is an award winning, good value, family run department store and restaurant. For the chocolate lover, the Chocolate Garden of Ireland is located on site where visitors can make their own chocolate shoe for example.
Rathwood has facilites to cater for the younger child, hosting the now yearly Spooktacular Pumpkin Train Adventure. Beware though to book in advance as this popular venue books out fast. Ideal for babies and children aged up to 8.
After 4pm the train opens to older kids - and adults!! Tickets include a trip on the train through the woods - beware of the ghouls along the way, a pumpkin carving which the child can keep, and a hot chocolate afterwards.

Good for families and open all year, this Halloween event takes place on October 28th from 12-5pm where children can feed the farm animals and spooky events take place from 2-4pm with face painters and of course Padini the magician!!

Visit Spooktacular BOO! at the ZOO!
This annual event at Dublin Zoo takes place from 28th – 31st October and to celebrate Halloween, Dublin Zoo, has transformed the exotic Kaziranga Forest Trail into a festive pumpkin patch where Upali, the new bull elephant and the female elephants had great fun smashing pumpkins.
There will also be a variety of activities to do and see for all the family will take place from 12-3pm on both days ranging from face painting, scary arts and crafts in the Meerkat Restaurant to a monster disco outside Haughton House near the Great Lawn.

Macnas Halloween Parade takes place on the Sunday 28th October beginning at its home in NUI Galway and filtering through the streets of the city. It is Irelands largest free event to go to where visitors are encouraged to wear costumes and take part!!!
